A scene from a late-16th century publication of Nezami Ganjavi's adaptation of the classical Arabic story Layla and Majnun, which is based on the real story of Qays ibn al-Mulawwah, a young man from the northern Arabian Peninsula and his love Layla. There are two versions of the story, but in both, Majnun goes mad when her father prevents him from marrying her. In the depicted scene, the eponymous star-crossed lovers meet for the last time before their deaths. Both have fainted and Majnun's elderly messenger attempts to revive Layla while wild animals protect the pair from unwelcome intruders.

今日はドイツのクリスマスについて書きたいと思います。
この前、クリスマスの習慣の起源を調べていました。結果を読んですごくビックリしました！どうやら、クリスマスの習慣の起源は大半がドイツ語圏(オーストリアとドイツ)です。Ｔａｎｎｅｎｂａｕｍ(クリスマスツリー)やカロル(Ｓｔｉｌｌｅ Ｎａｃｈｔとか)は全部ドイツ語圏からなんです。私もぜんぜん知りませんでした！(⌒▽⌒;)
ドイツのクリスマスはアメリカのと違います。クリスマスは１２月２４日です。クリスマスイブはプレゼントをもらえます。２４日にプレゼントを持ってくるのはサンタさんではありません！「Ｃｈｒｉｓｔｋｉｎｄ」という空想の人物がプレゼントを持って来ます。天使みたいな人物なんです。
普通、クリスマスは家族と一緒に過ごします。教会にも行って、特別な美味しい晩ご飯を食べます。晩ご飯の後でベルの音が聞こえるとやっとリビングに入れます！そこにはクリスマスツリーやプレゼントがあります。
Ｃｈｒｉｓｔｋｉｎｄを追い出さないように、リビングは晩ご飯の後まで鍵がかけてあります。それで、静かにプレゼントを持って来られるのです。
プレゼントを開ける前に、家族の全員はカロルを歌います。
Ｃｈｒｉｓｔｋｉｎｄはサンタさんよりかわいいでしょうか。
それに、２４日の晩にプレゼントをもらえるほうが楽だと思います。
２５日の朝まで待たなければならない人々はきっとぜんぜん眠れないでしょうね。（；^ω^）
もちろん、ドイツでもサンタさんが来ますよ！ただ、それは２５日ではなく、１２月６日なんです。その日、サンタさんは若い子供たちを叱ります。ちょっとだけ怖いのです。（；^ω^）
「今年いい子にしていましたか。」や「お母さんをよく手伝ってあげましたか。」と厳しく聞きます。「はぁ・・(≧∇≦)ノ ハーイ♪」と答えて、サンタさんは大きい袋からプレゼントバッグを出します。そのバッグの中はナッツ、みかんや小さいプレゼント(冬物の靴下とか)です。
普通、サンタさんだけが来ます。でも悪いサンタさんもいます。名は「Ｋｎｅｃｈｔ Ｒｕｐｒｅｃｈｔ」で、英語で「Ｂｌａｃｋ Ｓａｎｔａ」なんです。あいつは本当にいやな奴です！悪い子をつかまえて、枝みたいな物で殴ります。
怖い話だけれども、今時Ｋｎｅｃｈｔ Ｒｕｐｒｅｃｈｔはあまり何もしません。
子供の頃もただ遠くから見ていました。でも、母は子供のときに、一度捕まりました。本当に怖かったでしょうね。（；^ω^）
親にとってはいい躾の方法なんですが！
「ちゃんと宿題をしないのなら、今年、サンタさんの代わりにブラックサンタが来るでしょう。」と子供たちに言います。ｗｗｗ （；^ω^）
１２月１日からクリスマスまでの間は「Ａｄｖｅｎｔ」と言います。
ドイツでもいくつかのほかの国でも「Ａｄｖｅｎｔｓｋａｌｅｎｄｅｒ」と「Ａｄｖｅｎｔｓｋｒａｎｚ」があります。
「Ａｄｖｅｎｔｓｋａｌｅｎｄａｒ」は１２月１日から２４日までのカレンダーなんです。
特別なカレンダーです。２４個の窓があります。毎日、該当する窓を開けます。Ａｄｖｅｎｔｓｋａｌｅｎｄａｒにはいくつか種類があります。窓の中には何が隠れているでしょうか。絵タイプ、 チョコレートタイプや小さいプレゼントタイプもありますよ！子供たちの待ち時間を緩和します。
大人にはＡｄｖｅｎｔｓｋｒａｎｚがあります。モミから手作りの物です。クリスマスツリーみたいに飾ることができます。ろうそくを四つ立てます。
１２月、日曜日ごとにろうそくを一つ点けます！♪

Is there a better term for the second part/noun than '取り外し' (or presumably 外し alone)?
Also, would the first part typically be in katakana?
(For some reason I started out thinking that the term '開始' was appropriate for the second part, but that turned out to be completely different. I may or may not have misremembered something with a similar pronunciation. *wonders*)

Hello, everybody! When I was studying for the JLPT, I came across some problems...
1. さっき起きたばかりで、またねむいです。
HOW do I translate this? I don't understand why we use bakari... I knew that we used it to say "He only plays/ eats cookies" etc. Sorry if this sounds silly...
2. Is there any polite verb for "aru"? (the humble version in "gozaru", but the polite one)?
How do you say "The teacher's bag is on the table"?

Oh, lazy sunny day. Instrumentals are not out yet but... I won't be uploading em even if they surface anywhere, have a g00d4y.
I've never paid much attention to Sugawara Sayuri, basically because most of her songs didn't stand out or worked for me, even with such gorgeous vocals like hers. I expected her previous single, "Ano Hi no Yakusoku", to be more confident and perhaps better, but it turned out being just another forgettable ballad-y song. "Kimi ga Iru Kara" is not different. It'll be used as the Japanese theme song for Final Fantasy XIII but I'm still not sure if this decision was any good. The song hasn't that climatic and epic thing that most of FF theme songs have, you know? "Kiss Me Good Bye" still makes me feel warm inside. But well, if you liked this, it may be worth a download. "Eternal Love", which is A BIT better, is also the insert song of the game.

i am confused because of あとで rules. please help!
so i have learnt that the verb before あとで gets た form.
ご飯を食べた後で 寝ました。
i was happy with that rule untill yesterday when i came across the sneaky その あとで
(yeah, JLPT level 4 :)
きょうとへ＿＿＿＿そのあとで ひろしまへ いきました。
１．行こう ２．行き ３。行く ４．行って
and the lovely た form is not even an option...
Could you please explain what rule is hiding behind this one?

I've noticed lots of people saying in my last uploads that some files can't be extracted or are missing. I bet that most of these people downloaded those files from Mediafire, so please download it from other link if you're having problems with em. I'm already uploading files at Multiupload and Sendspace because I know that some sharing sites may not work with some of you, so please understand. I won't be uploading individual links just because one or two members are having problems. UNLESS IT EXTRACTS BUT THE SONG ITSELF SKIPS (After School's When I Fall, for example).
Remember: Mediafire is shit. Garbage. If you downloaded something from MF and it troubles, snag it from other link, please (SS is the best). That 7-Zip tutorial (CRC errors, etc.), it may work out too.

A bit of help please, I want to write to a Japanese person, giving them advice on how what to do if they come over to study aboard. Here's what I have so far (hopefully there is not spelling mistakes.) If you guys could tell me if it looks good, and help where its needed, I'd really appreciate that.
