Amsterdam?! Mar. 2nd, 2007 @ 05:08 pm
i was sitting in the train.. and all of a sudden i figured i wanted to go to amsterdam.. i was in doubt all the way to xochipilli and when i finally got there i finally decided to stay put and sit the ride out till amsterdam central! so there i was in amsterdam. I actually went there to buy a plectrum, so i walked..

i walked and i passed this store where my illegal cousin usually works, but instead i found his sort of guardian/friend/comrade type of person, who saw me..... unfortunately.... anyway.. he said hi, we talked a bit, got inside the store, talked a bit more, talked about cars, talked about family members' cars, and i carefully avoided the topic of my illegal cousin.. and he didn't bring it up either so that was good. After a while i told him i had to go.. and so i did..

walked further along this street of which i can't remember the name (parallel to the Damrak, nieuwendijk i believe). Got to Dam Square.. and there this bloke who i thought was australian/american stood there again with his whip and stuff.. it turned out he's actually canadian :S :P.. Anyway, this time i did stay for the show as it was all nice and sunny and i didn't miss any part of it.. because like last time.. he was just starting. Apparently his show was about him getting out of this straight jacket and chains. And me + a spanish boy were asked to help him, get him all tied up. That was really cool (i think he asked me because i was the first to walk up to the rope which he had laid on the ground to mark the boundary of the audience, he made a joke about it saying "all the beautiful and smart people walk up to the rope first..). He told a lot of stand-up like jokes, which was pretty fun, and in order to tie him up i had to crawl under him between his feet so i could get the chain over his shoulder or something.
Anyway.. his great escape was pretty cool, ofcourse it was all set up and he knew exactly what to do as he told us rather precisely how to tie him up. But all in al it was good fun. I gave him 2€ afterwards.. :P

So after the show i walked along the Kalverstraat towards that shop where i had seen the special plectrum, it's a shiny hematite one, all polished :P but now i don't have to get a new one for many years :S and i'm not going to either because it was almost 20 friggin euros :S:S:S:S (wallet kinda hurts, or my plastic card rather)

walked back to the dam square busstop and went home.. at poortwachter this bloke from highschool got on.. so we said hi.. and when i got off at my stop i noticed this guy sitting there and suddenly i remembered it was joost! (who's [info]searching__'s bro [info]pcrodent)

and now i'm here telling y'all about my extremely interesting day which more or less started in Delft with me and my stupid project group building a torsion box for a wing which we are going to destroy in 3 weeks (that's the assignment, build and destroy) apparently our rivet pitch was correct and the pitches of the other groups are too large (almost twice that of ours) so they are definitely going to see some painfull buckling of their box skins! muhaaa
